JOB SUMMARY:

 

Adelphi University invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professorships in Mathematics and Computer Science to begin Fall, 2019. The successful applicant will join an active, engaged, and collegial department. For more information about the department, visit https://math-computer.adelphi.edu/The department offers majors in Mathematics, Computer Science and in Information Systems. The usual teaching load is 18 credits per academic year. Adelphi University is committed to encouraging faculty research by offering opportunities for research reductions and summer grants.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.     Teaching a broad range of major courses (both undergraduate and graduate). 

2.     Development of a research program in her/his area of specialization, 

3.     Commitment to teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds and excellent potential as a teacher.

4.    Potential to develop a research program involving undergraduate and master's students.

5.    Service on University committees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.     Doctoral degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a closely related field is required within one year of appointment.

2.     Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or research experience in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Analytics, or willingness to expand teaching interest to include these subject areas.
