Position Summary

West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Department of Mathematics invites applicants for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professorship of Statistics positions. Responsibilities will include teaching up to four courses per semester including graduate courses in statistics, undergraduate courses in statistics, as well as other undergraduate mathematics courses. Preference will be given to individuals with background in Data Science and with the potential to develop curriculum in this area. 

Minimum Qualifications 

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in statistics by August 2019. Candidates in closely related disciplines also will be considered, if their scholarship and professional involvement demonstrate commitment to and identification with the field of statistics. In addition, the successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated teaching excellence or potential. The successful candidate must be engaged in a viable program of ongoing research. The successful candidate also must have an interest in developing curricula and supervising student research as part of a growing Master's Degree Program in Applied Statistics.

Finalists must successfully complete an interview process that includes a teaching demonstration and a research talk to the Department's faculty and upper division students.
