About us: Emporia State University is a comprehensive regional public institution in the beautiful Flint Hills region in the state of Kansas. We have an enrollment of approximately 6000 students. The department has a strong record of innovative teaching including national recognition for our outreach programs that seek to encourage underrepresented groups to study in STEM areas.

We also have thriving online Master of Science degree programs in mathematics and informatics that serve students worldwide. In addition to the graduate program, the department currently has undergraduate majors in mathematics, mathematics education, and economics; most of the undergraduate courses for these majors and the university’s General Education Program are offered on the ESU campus. The department seeks to expand in the areas of statistics at the graduate and undergraduate levels and potentially actuarial science.
