Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mathematical Biology

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2019. This is a one-year fellowship with the possibility of renewal for two additional years.

We are interested in hiring a recent PhD graduate with the background in mathematical physiology and medicine. The successful candidate should have strong computational skills, and will work with Prof. Anita Layton. Her research group use computational tools to better understand aspects of renal physiology and pathophysiology, and to investigate pathogenesis and treatments for diabetes and hypertension. For more information about the research group, see The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000.

The Department of Applied Mathematics has 27 regular faculty and two lecturers. Research interests include scientific computing, mathematical physics, differential equations and dynamical systems, fluid dynamics, mathematical biology and medicine, and control theory. The department has a substantial graduate program with close to 100 graduate students, and strong undergraduate programs in applied mathematics and mathematical physics.
