The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor. The department expects applicants will demonstrate the potential for excellence in research, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, and institutional service. Candidates with research interests in any area of applied and computational mathematics are encouraged to apply. We particularly seek candidates who are specifically interested in building strong interdisciplinary collaborations, including with faculty in UNC’s College of Arts and Science, School of Medicine, Eshelman School of Pharmacy, and/or Gillings School of Global Public Health. A PhD degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
