Postdoctoral Research Position Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IndianaApplications are invited for a postdoctoral research position to participate in a project involving uncertainty quantification and thermo-structural analysis as part of Prof. Daniele Schiavazzi’s group at the University of Notre Dame. The group focuses on uncertainty quantification with the current position focused on the thermo-structural analysis of hypersonic systems under uncertainty. We are seeking a highly motivated and driven applicant with a strong background in uncertainty analysis, computational fluid/solid mechanics, hypersonics, extensive experience with coding in C++/Python, strong communication skills, and an ability to work independently and collaborate effectively. Previous experience with parallel programming is desirable. The applicant will also work with and help mentor graduate students. We will provide travel support for the applicant to attend conferences and seminars for the applicant to share this research. Pending availability of funds, the position is initially for one year with the possibility of a one year renewal. For career development, there may be an opportunity for the applicant to teach a course in the second year.
