Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Arts and Sciences invite applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty member as Assistant Professor of Mathematics, beginning August 2019. The University seeks candidates with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle and commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

We invite candidates whose scholarship and experience include an ability to teach upper-level Applied and Pure Math courses, such as Statistical Theory, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Advanced Calculus, and Numerical Analysis. The successful applicant will also be able to teach most undergraduate mathematics courses from College Algebra to Advanced Calculus. A record of collaborative, interdisciplinary research and experience in advising undergraduate student research and working effectively with a diverse student body is desirable. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics is required.

Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment: annual appointment, professional path, and tenure track. Faculty in the Professional Path focus on teaching and learning and are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, and service; and they are able to promote through professorial ranks. After six years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become eligible for multi-year contracts. Faculty on tenure track focus initially on teaching and learning, but they are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, service, and scholarship. Tenure-track faculty promote through professorial ranks and are eligible for tenure status in year six.
