The An-Cockrell Lab at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research position in the Department of Surgery, focusing on biomedical simulation. We are a multi-disciplinary team consisting of physicians, physicists, and computational scientists; this span of expertise provides us the range of perspectives to address the complex challenges of turning experimental information into actionable knowledge. Our projects extend from the application of high-performance computing and machine learning to computation-aided therapeutic discovery to highly detailed models of specific organ systems. Opportunities exist for close collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have (or be expecting) a PhD in a quantitative discipline and have significant computational experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Experience with C++, Python 2) Knowledge of machine-learning techniques 3) Experience with natural language processing
