Art of Problem Solving Academy ( is an after-school academic math and language arts training academy that caters to advanced students. Every year the Art of Problem Solving book series and website ( train many of the very best math students from around the world, including our own United States International Math Olympiad team.

The Campus Director will need to supervise our dedicated staff of teaching professionals, meet with parents and students, teach several core math classes, and assist with community outreach efforts. Applicants with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Campus Director role.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and collaborate with instructors of our high-performing students. You can see bios of some of our instructors.
  • Meet and greet parents and current/potential students, provide information about our program, and resolve any questions or concerns.
  • Work with campus and national staff to increase AoPS Academy’s profile in the local community and act as liaison at public events.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Academy in coordination with the national office.
  • Teach elementary and secondary mathematics courses as needed during weekends, weekday evenings, and summer weekdays.
  • Work in dynamic, participation-oriented classes that focus on instruction and developing skill sets, not rote memorization.
  • Oversee small classes (average size 12) consisting of top-performing elementary, middle, and high school students who are passionate about math and motivated to succeed.
  • Work in a flexible, family-friendly company with a strong sense of mission.


  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • The ideal applicant has experience working with parents and students. The ability to teach math up through at least the middle school level is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both in writing and face-to-face are a must, as the job requires a great deal of internal and external communication.
