Mathematics Lecturer Position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Dayton – Two positions available

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Dayton seeks applicants for two full-time benefits-eligible lecturer positions in mathematics. The positions begin August 16, 2019. The typical teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester. Courses include mathematics courses for business and non-STEM majors, precalculus, and calculus courses for life science, physical science and engineering majors.

Required qualifications: MS in mathematics, anticipated by July 1, 2019.  Applicants must have effective written communication skills and the potential to become an effective teacher.

Application Process: A complete application consists of:

  • Cover letter, 
  • CV, 
  • Statement of teaching philosophy, 
  • Three letters of recommendation (at least two letters must focus on teaching ability), 
  • An unofficial graduate school transcript and a list of all courses taught that explains the nature of each course, as well as the level of responsibility for the syllabus, course content, assignments and tests, grading, and presentation of the course material. If you do not have any teaching experience, please submit a blank page in lieu of the list.

Applicants who do not have the master’s degree at the time of application must submit a statement from their degree-granting department indicating the anticipated timeline for completion of the degree currently sought.

Applicants are encouraged to submit summaries of recent teaching evaluations, if available.
