Job Description
We seek a broadly trained statistician, with a PhD by the start date of the appointment, in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field. Vassar College is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to increasing the diversity of the campus community and the curriculum, and promoting an environment of equality, inclusion, and respect for difference. Candidates who can contribute to this goal through their teaching, research, advising, and other activities are encouraged to identify their strengths and experiences in this area. Individuals from groups whose underrepresentation in the American professoriate has been severe and longstanding are particularly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship. The teaching load in the first year is four courses, and in subsequent years is four classroom courses plus one intensive, a small enrollment, closely mentored experience for undergraduates. Joining two statisticians in the department, the successful candidate will further develop and expand the statistics pathway in the major and the growing student body interest in statistics and data science at the College.
