Department of Mathematics University of Louisville, Louisville, KY 40292 Tenure-track position in Statistics The Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisville is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2020. Preference will be given to applicants in the area of statistics, but those working in applied probability will also be given consideration. The University of Louisville is a Metropolitan Research University located in Louisville, the largest city in Kentucky. The Department currently has 25 tenure stream faculty members and offers graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics and statistics leading to a BA, BS, including an actuarial concentration for the BS, an MA in Mathematics and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial & Applied Mathematics. Minimum qualifications for this position include a Ph.D.
degree, or its equivalent, in the Mathematical/Statistical Sciences with
demonstrated strengths in research and teaching. Expectations include that the
successful applicant will actively engage in research, pursue external funding
and contribute to both undergraduate and graduate instruction, including
general education and service courses. Ability
to teach actuarial classes is a plus.
