The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computational Topology at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 1, 2020. Although preference will be given to candidates whose primary focus is computational topology, exceptional candidates in closely related fields may also be considered. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNCG consists of 23 tenured/tenure-track faculty and offers the BA, BS, and MA degrees in Mathematics as well as the PhD degree in Computational Mathematics. All applicants will be expected to maintain a strong independent research program that strengthens our PhD program in Computational Mathematics, have a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, seek external research funding, and have the potential to mentor undergraduate and graduate research. Candidates must hold or anticipate a PhD in mathematics or a closely related area by August 1, 2020. UNCG is a doctorate-granting university with an enrollment of approximately 20,000 students. It has been designated as a Minority Serving Institution, with an undergraduate population of 45% ethnic minority students.
