Postdoctoral position in number theory

Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University (Prague) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in number theory.

The position will be funded by Dr. Kala's project "Universal quadratic forms: geometry and analysis" awarded by the Charles University. There are no teaching duties and knowledge of Czech is not necessary. Due to restrictions of the grant agency, applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years (exceptions are possible in cases of parental leave and long-term sickness).

The expected duration of the position is July 1, 2020 - December 31, 2022, with the possibility of extension until June 30, 2023 (subject to mutual satisfaction and the availability of funding).

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is leading institution in mathematics in Czechia, with highly motivated and well educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, covering most of the major areas of mathematics.
The Department of Algebra, where the position will be hosted, offers an open minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research. We currently have about 15 permanent and 10 postdoctoral positions, with over a quarter of these positions held by international researchers.
