Looking for a research assistant or software engineer (part/partial time possible) to help develop code and algorithms as part of the Quantifying Gerrymandering project at Duke. This exciting group is working on methods to characterize gerrymandering. Members have given testimony in a number of high profile Gerrymandering cases.

Ideal candidates would have a coding background in object oriented programming, c++, and MPI and some knowledge of statistics, probability, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. Ideal candidates might also have knowledge of graph theory, GIS tools (including geopandas), python and data visualizations.
