Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full-time instructor, with benefits, starting August 2020. Duties include teaching twenty-four semester credit hours per academic year (typically 6-8 courses at lower and upper undergraduate level), along with service in support of departmental goals in undergraduate education. The salary for the 9-month academic year is $45,750. Summer teaching may be available for additional pay.

Minimum qualification for the position is a Master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field. The degree must be awarded by the start of the appointment. Preferred qualifications are a PhD in mathematics or a closely related field and experience teaching in the field.

A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching is required. The teaching statement should detail the experience in teaching mathematics courses, including a brief description of the courses taught, and discuss any innovative teaching approaches, if applicable.
