Position Description:    

The Mathematics & Computer Science Department at Lawrence Tech University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Science to start in the Fall 2020 semester. We seek outstanding applicants who have demonstrated research and teaching expertise in scientific, technical, and engineering aspects of game design and development, game user research, game artificial intelligence, virtual reality and/or computer graphics for games. The successful candidate must develop a research program, seek external funding, teach graduate and undergraduate students, and advice students in the M.S. program. Service to the college and the university is expected. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with faculty from other disciplines, such as Game Art, Management Information Systems, and the Sciences. Teaching responsibilities can range from developmental computer science through introductory undergraduate and graduate level courses. Our primary mission is developing exceptional undergraduates through faculty engagement in collaborative student research, faculty use of active teaching techniques in the classroom, and faculty oversight of interdisciplinary student project teams.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree (Ph. D.) in computer science, digital media, computer games, computational media, or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience, grant experience, and teaching experience are highly desirable.
