This is a 3-year research postdoctoral position to begin in Autumn 2020 (or sooner if preferred), with research focus in symplectic topology and contact topology. The position is funded by the ERC project "New Transversality Techniques in Holomorphic Curve Theories" of Prof. Chris Wendl. There is no teaching load and thus no language requirement; some voluntary teaching of upper-level courses in English can be arranged if desired. The HU Berlin has an expanding symplectic geometry group that currently includes two professors (Wendl and Mohnke), six postdocs, four Ph.D. students and several Master's students. For this position we are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in mathematics and expertise in symplectic topology, contact topology or geometric analysis.
