Position Description 

The Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of William H. Kruskal Instructor. We seek recent or expected Ph.D. graduates doing advanced research with a connection to applied mathematics, computational mathematics, or statistical methodology. Kruskal Instructor responsibilities include teaching up to three courses in statistics or applied mathematics, and engagement in independent research. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The University of Chicago has the highest standards for scholarship and faculty quality, is dedicated to fundamental research, and has an inherently inter-disciplinary structure that is very supportive of newly emerging research opportunities. We particularly seek individuals whose research interests are related to those of faculty in the Department of Statistics or of faculty in the Committee on Computational and Applied Mathematics


Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field by the time of hire.
