The Department of Mathematics, University at Buffalo, State University of New York, anticipates the appointment of two non-tenure-track visiting assistant professors, effective August 2020. These positions are for two years (one year plus expected renewal for the second year with satisfactory performance). They are intended for new or recent Ph.D.s with outstanding potential in research and excellent teaching. The expected teaching load is one course per semester. All areas of pure and applied mathematics will be considered. Preference will be given to researchers who can work closely with one or more of our faculty members, and applicants are encouraged to specify with whom they would like to work. Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a summary of their research program, a description of their teaching experience and three or more letters of reference, one of which supports the applicant's effectiveness as a teacher.
