The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for two year postdoctoral positions with an expected start date of August 16, 2020. 

While applications from all areas are accepted, preference will be given to candidates in the following areas: 
 * Discrete geometry 
 * Probability 
 * Commutative algebra and Algebraic Geometry 
 * Numerical analysis / computational mathematics 
 * Partial differential equations 
 * Combinatorics, graph theory 
 * Mathematical Biology

These positions carry a 2-1 teaching load and in addition carry a requirement to be involved with mentoring undergraduate students in research through the Iowa State Math Research Teams (ISMaRT). 

A complete application will consist of a cover letter, a current CV, a research statement, a teaching statement, and three letters of recommendation (at least one of which addresses teaching). Required Minimum Qualifications:  
* PhD in Mathematics or a closely related discipline obtained by appointment date. 
* Demonstrated commitment to scholarship, with the ability to establish a viable research program 

Preferred Qualifications: 
* Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.  
* Evidence of an understanding of and willingness to work collaboratively with diverse groups
