Faculty Position in Pure Mathematics College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences The University of Vermont

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor, with duties to start in late August of 2020. Preference will be given to researchers in the fields of algebra, number theory, and geometry, broadly construed, and within those areas to researchers who have the potential to work on interdisciplinary or computational projects. Outstanding candidates in closely related fields of pure mathematics who support the Department’s strengths in other areas of pure or applied mathematics will be given strong consideration.

The applicant must have an earned PhD in mathematics or a closely related area, a strong research record, the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, and the potential to supervise masters and doctoral students. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
