The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Helsinki invites applications for


for a full-time three-year position. The employment is scheduled to commence in September 2020.

Position description

The Postdoctoral Researcher´s work encompasses conducting research and a small amount of teaching (approximately 24 hours of lecturing a year).


The preferred area is representation theory broadly understood, including algebraic geometry and number theory. Preference is given to applicants whose work is related to the Langlands program.


The overall starting salary will be ca. 3300-3800 €/month, depending on the previous relevant research experience of the candidate.
