Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) develops educational opportunities for many of the most eager math and science students in the world. We have trained tens of thousands of the country’s top students in the last 15 years, and our international online community of advanced problem solvers has over 500,000 members.

Our Beast Academy curriculum is built around a world of four little monsters who are learning to tackle tough math concepts and problems. Our curriculum includes comic-style Guide books, Practice books, and an online platform for ages 8-13. The program has sold over 500,000 books, and the recently-launched online program has over 11,000+ active subscriptions.

At AoPS, we believe that students learn best by working through challenging problems which present students with opportunities to develop problem-solving and critical reasoning skills through productive struggle and creative thinking. Our goal is for students to build a deep conceptual understanding of mathematics through grappling with why mathematics works. 

We seek a math educator to join our team who will help us build the tools needed for schools and teachers to successfully implement Beast Academy in their classrooms.

You might be a good fit for this position if:

  • You have a deep understanding of elementary mathematics, including current implementations, common teaching practices, and its connection to more advanced mathematics.
  • Your have worked with advanced learners and your experience in education includes one or more of the following:
    • Creating or selecting curricula or teacher resources. 
    • Mentoring, coaching, or training other teachers.
    • Close collaboration with school administrators and math specialists.
  • You’re excited about developing materials and tools that will help elementary teachers improve their understanding of mathematics and use Beast Academy effectively in the classroom.

In this position, you will collaborate with the rest of our team to: 

  • Write print and online materials that make Beast Academy easy to use by teachers who have limited backgrounds in mathematics.
  • Help design and build new product features aimed at teacher and school use. 
  • Help create the tools needed to make BA Online work well for students with a broad range of abilities.
  • Assist customer service and sales in answering questions that require deep pedagogical or product knowledge.
