Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Statistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Wright State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in statistics at the rank of assistant professor starting Fall 2020. Candidates from any area of statistics will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department’s programmatic and research needs in statistics, particularly in the areas of data science, machine learning, computational statistics and topological data analysis.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics or a related field (anticipated completion of all requirements by start date).

The department offers an undergraduate major in Statistics, has a Master’s program in Applied Statistics including a biostatistics track, and is a major participating unit in an Interdisciplinary Applied Science and Mathematics PhD program.  The university, including the Boonshoft School of Medicine, and surrounding industry provide many research collaboration opportunities in statistics.  The position is a nine-month appointment and carries a standard teaching load of two courses per semester.
