The Institute of Algebraic Geometry invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant in Algebraic Geometry to be appointed on April 1st, 2021. The position is permanent. Responsibilities and duties The successful candidate is expected to conduct active research in the field of algebraic geometry and to participate in the institute’s research activities. The teaching duties amount to 10 hours per week and include the organization of exercise classes and examinations, as well as introductory seminars and supervision of students. Most of the teaching will be conducted in German. Relevant teaching experience is required. Employment conditions To qualify for the position, applicants must hold a scientific university degree, preferably in Mathematics. Furthermore, a doctoral degree with above-average success in Algebraic Geometry, very good language skills in English and German, as well as experience with digital media in teaching and research is expected.
