The Department of Mathematics at Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2022. We are particularly interested in candidates working in Number Theory or Representation Theory, but will consider outstanding candidates in other areas. In exceptional cases, a higher-level appointment may be considered. Research active faculty at Boston College typically teach three semester courses per year.

Requirements include a Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics awarded in 2020 or earlier, a record of very strong research combined with outstanding research potential, and demonstrated excellence in teaching mathematics.

A completed application should contain a cover letter, a description of research plans, a statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, and at least four letters of recommendation. One or more of the letters of recommendation should directly comment on the candidate's teaching credentials.
