UNIVERSITÄT REGENSBURG The Faculty of Mathematics invites applications for a full professorship of Mathematics (grade W3) as a tenured professorship at grade W3 to be appointed as soon as possible. The Faculty of Mathematics seeks a distinguished researcher to strengthen the research profile of the faculty. The candidate‘s research should address current and upcoming topics in a field of Mathematics that is connected to at least one of the focused research areas of the faculty: Applied Analysis, Arithmetic Geometry, or Global Analysis and Geometry. Topics of particular interest are Applied Category Theory and Homotopy Theory, Geometry and Motivic Methods, Analysis of Stochastically Driven Non-linear Systems, Non-linear Optimization and Inverse Problems. It is expected that the candidate engages actively in one of the current projects (RTG 2339 Interfaces, Complex Structures, and Singular Limits; CRC 1085 Higher Invariants) as well as in the Kepler Research Centre for Mathematics. A cooperative spirit and the participation in future joint grant proposals is essential. Involvement in the university‘s academic self-governance and in teaching is a prerequisite. Teaching includes, in particular, basic courses in the curriculum of BSc Mathematics and the curriculum of the Lehramtsstudiengang Mathematik (education of high-school teachers), specialized courses within BSc/MSc Mathematics in at least one of the fields Applied Analysis, Arithmetic Geometry, or Global Analysis and Geometry, as well as teaching service courses for other faculties. Prerequisites for taking up the position are, alongside the general conditions from public sector employment law, a completed university degree; pedagogic suitability; particular aptitude for academic work, generally shown by a doctoral degree, as well as additional academic achievements, such as a Habilitiation or an equivalent research record (scientific research experience gained outside of a university environment or while employed as a Junior Professor will also be taken into consideration). Universität Regensburg is particularly committed to reconciling family and working life (for more information, see http://www.uni-regensburg.de/familienservice.). To fulfill the equality directive and increase the number of female professors, we explicitly encourage applications from qualified women. In case of essentially similar suitability, applicants with severe disabilities will be preferentially selected. The prerequisites for appointment under civil servant law are based on the provisions of the Bavarian Public Service Code (BayBG) and the Bavarian University Staff Act (BayHSchPG). Applications containing the normal documents (résumé, certificates, list of publications with copies of the most important papers) should be submitted electronically (as a single pdf file) by 15. Noveber 2021 to the dean of the Faculty of Mathematics (fakultaet.mathematik@mathematik.uni-r.de). Information on data protection can be found at https://www.uni-regensburg.de/datenschutz/.
