The School of Maths wishes to invite applicants with a broad range of backgrounds in representation theory, quantum topology, integrable systems, or cluster algebra to apply. The theme of the grant is positive representation theory, and its connections to cluster algebra, quantum character varieties, integrable systems, non-compact Chern–Simons theory, Liouville theory, and supersymmetric gauge theory. Anyone appointed will have freedom to pursue their own research directions.

The Opportunity:

The post is funded by the ERC grant “Non-compact Chern–Simons theory, Positive Representations, and Cluster Varieties”. The post-holders will be expected to contribute to the research programme of the grant, but will also have freedom to pursue their own research directions. Candidates will have the opportunity to teach; the School will seek to find assignments that are beneficial in terms of career development and compatible with the postdoc’s research expertise.
