The Department of Mathematics at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2022.  

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field prior to the beginning of the contract. Applicants working in any area of mathematics are encouraged to apply. We are seeking candidates who are strongly committed to high quality teaching and supporting undergraduate research. 

The successful candidate will be expected to excel at teaching classes to undergraduate students, to mentor undergraduate research projects or perform equivalent activity, to maintain an active research program, and to provide service to the department and university.  The normal teaching load is three courses per semester, and faculty are expected to devote more than half of their time to teaching and related activities.
