Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a two-year, Visiting position in Mathematics & Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in July 2022. A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field is preferred, but ABD’s will be considered. Prior teaching experience at a U.S. college or university is required. Our department has a strong commitment to student-centered learning. Thus, we will be particularly interested in candidates with experience in active learning techniques and/or laboratory-based instruction. In addition, the ability to teach introductory statistics or introductory programming is desirable.

Kenyon College, located on an idyllic campus in rural central Ohio, is ranked in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges and has a reputation for outstanding teaching and scholarship. We have a national student body of about 1900 students. The Mathematics and Statistics Department is housed in a spacious and well-equipped building. We have ten full-time faculty members teaching a wide range of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses. The department offers a major in mathematics with areas of emphasis in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. We also contribute to an interdisciplinary concentration in scientific computing. Kenyon faculty members are expected to be excellent teachers who maintain strong research programs, and there are funds available to support travel and faculty development. The typical teaching load is five courses per year.
