Depending on the successful applicant's qualifications, the rank appointment could be as a post-doctoral Assistant Research Professor or as an Assistant Professor of the Practice. The latter would be contingent on university approval and the former could also have a research mentor if desired.

The teaching load will be between 2 and 4 courses per year depending on departmental needs, the candidate's qualifications, and the candidate’s research or other scholarly activities. Hires above the pos-doctoral level could also help other faculty diffuse computation activities into their classes and interface with the recently form Center For Computational Thinking as well as the Rhodes Information Initiative and the masters program in Data Science (MIDS).

Salary will depend on qualifications and responsibilities. Evaluation of candidates will begin February 1st, 2022 and will continue until position is filled.

Applicants with degrees in Mathematics, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as Computational Sciences are all encouraged to apply. In some cases, joint appointments with departments other than Mathematics may be possible.

Ideally, the successful candidate would start by August 1, 2022.

The post-doctoral position will be two years with the possibility of renewal. Appointments at other ranks could initially be longer.
