Position Description

The College of Idaho invites applications for a full-time, open-rank visiting position in the Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MAPS) for the 2023–2024 academic year. We seek candidates who share the College’s commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive academic community through their teaching, mentoring, scholarly activity, and service.

This is a one-year, in-person position with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Duties of the position include teaching undergraduate courses in statistics and mathematics. Preference may be given to candidates who can teach introductory computer science courses.

The MAPS Department and College of Idaho are committed to professional development of all of its faculty members. Visiting faculty receive support through access to funding from the Faculty Growth and Development Committee at the same level as tenured and tenure-track faculty. Visiting faculty are also invited to participate in faculty orientation and mentorship activities throughout the academic year. The MAPS faculty are happy to provide feedback, advice, past syllabi, and course materials to support the successful candidate’s teaching.

Qualifications A graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with terminal degrees and/or teaching experience. Application instructions Review of candidates will begin April 17, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
