Position Description

The Mathematics Department (https://sse.tulane.edu/math) and Murphy Institute for Political Economy (https://murphy.tulane.edu/) at Tulane University invite applications for a Professor of Practice (PoP) in Statistics to begin in the Fall of 2024. The PoP is a renewable and promotable non-tenured full time academic year teaching position with a 3-year initial appointment. It carries a teaching load of three courses per semester. The position has a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the candidate's qualifications. Faculty promoted to Senior PoP serve renewable 5-year terms.

The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) teach a variety of introductory Probability and Statistics courses; (2) design and teach a Master's degree level course in statistical methods; (3) advise undergraduate and graduate students who are taking or teaching these courses; and (4) perform some level of faculty services.
