Position Description

Assistant Professor, Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington (Seattle) invites applications for multiple full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. These positions have an anticipated start date in Autumn 2024. Faculty in the Department of Mathematics are outstanding researchers and devoted teachers, and they are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the university and in the larger mathematical community.

The Department of Mathematics is one of the top mathematics departments among public universities in the United States. Washington State law requires that this ad list a binding salary range. The base salary range for this position will be $11,666 to $14,445 per month on a nine-month basis ($104,994 to $130,005 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a PhD, or foreign equivalent, in mathematics or a related field, by the start of the appointment.
