Position Description

Postdoctoral Fellowship at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at POSTECH is seeking applications for a one year Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematics. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related area (or get one by the start date) and should specialize in representation theory (interpreted broadly to include connections to related areas like number theory, mathematical physics, algebraic combinatorics and geometry). Korean language knowledge is not required.

This is a pure research position and does not carry teaching duties, though teaching a class (in English) may be possible if the candidate wishes to do so. Support for academic travel and other expenses will be available. The salary is competitive. The position should start around September 2024 and is one year long, but both starting date and length are slightly adjustable. The position will be mentored by Professor Valentin Buciumas.
