Position Description
Soka University of America (SUA) and the Science & Math Program invite applications to fill a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor position in Mathematics to teach fall and spring semester Calculus courses beginning in September, 2024. These are four-unit semester courses and will each meet (in person) one hour and fifty minutes twice weekly. Class sizes are typically capped at 16 students. Candidates able and willing to teach both courses will be preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong record of teaching, with a demonstrated understanding of the interdisciplinary curriculum in the liberal arts tradition. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to engage students in active learning in our small (average 14-student) classes. Qualifications Applicants should have a Ph.D. or be ABD in Mathematics and should have experience teaching Calculus courses.
