Position Description

(1) A tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

(2) An "open rank" position at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level or at the tenured level (Associate or Full Professor).

Applicants for an Assistant Professor position should have extremely strong research potential, and should provide evidence of success in teaching, and demonstrated ability in building diversity, equity and inclusiveness in the mathematical community. Required education is a PhD (or PhD requirements fulfilled by starting date), in Mathematics or related field.

Applicants for a tenured position should have a proven record of exceptional research achievements, and should provide evidence of success in teaching, and demonstrated ability in building diversity, equity and inclusiveness in the mathematical community.

The positions will entail teaching undergraduate and graduate classes and performing research in mathematics. Applications should include: (1) the American Mathematical Society cover sheet, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) at least four letters of recommendation, including one discussing teaching abilities, (4) a description of research program, (5) statement of teaching philosophy, (6) a diversity statement (suggestions for composing a statement on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity can be found at https://math.rice.edu/sites/g/files/bxs3121/files/inline-files/DIE-statement-suggestions-2.pdf).
