Position Description

The Chair of Number Theory at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for one or more postdoctoral researcher positions. We seek outstanding candidates interested in the following areas : the theory of automorphic forms, applications of automorphic forms to harmonic analysis and differential equations, optimal configurations of points in geometric spaces with focus on packing problems.

- Candidates should have (or be near completion of) Master degree in mathematics. - Term of employment: 1-year fixed-term contract (CDD), renewable for 4 years. - Transparent salary: CHF 54'550, with an automatic increment of CHF 1'000 each year. - The position comes with excellent research conditions, a competitive salary, and funding to cover travel expenses and other discretionary expenditures. - The anticipated starting date for this position is February 1, 2025, but an earlier or later starting date is also possible. - Review of applications will begin October 15, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. Short-listed candidates may be invited for an interview. - Knowledge of French is not a requirement.
