|The Instituto de Matemáticas at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) is looking for candidates for several postdoctoral positions.
UNAM is the leading university of Mexico, and among the strongest research Math institutions in Latin America. The Institute has more than 70 full time researchers covering many areas of Mathematics. Its main site is located in the campus of UNAM in Mexico City but it also has sites in the cities of Cuernavaca, Oaxaca and Querétaro. The duration of a postdoctoral position is 1 year with the possibility of extension to another year. Typically there are no teaching duties, although some funding sources may require some teaching at the graduate level.
Prior to submitting an application, a candidate must find a mentor among the researchers at the Institute, to get additional information, discuss a research plan and possible dates for the position. All communication between the Institute and the candidate must be done through the proposed mentor.
Applications must include a cover letter, CV, two recommendation letters, and the research plan. The application and all its documents can be submitted only through www.mathjobs.org. Letters of recommendation should also be uploaded to this site by the recommender.
The position may start either in spring or fall terms, and applications start to be reviewed in January and August, respectively. Further information will be available through the mentor.
