Postdoctoral Institute Fellow: ICERM invites applications for two one-year non-renewable salaried Postdoctoral Institute Fellowships that commence in September 2014. These positions are intended for mathematical scientists at an early career stage who would like to participate in one or both of the semester programs that run at ICERM in 2014-2015. ICERM will match Postdoctoral Institute Fellows with faculty mentors for the entire year.
The semester programs are:
High-dimensional Approximation (Fall 2014)
Phase Transitions and Emergent Properties (Spring 2015)
Postdoctoral Institute Fellows receive a nine-month salary of $50,000 plus benefits, and additional summer support might be available in 2015.
Eligibility: applicants must have completed their Ph.D. within three years of the start of the appointment. Documentation of completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree in mathematics or a related area by the start of the appointment is required.
For full consideration, applicants should submit a curriculum vitae (including publication list), an AMS Standard Cover Sheet, three letters of recommendation, and a research statement by February 15, 2014.
All application materials must be submitted on line at MathJobs.org.
The research statement must clearly indicate which semester program applicants wish to participate in, how their research interests relate to the scientific goals of the selected program, and should also outline plans for the off-program semester.
Brown University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and encourages applications from women and minorities.
