|The Lawrence University Department of Mathematics invites applications for a two-year position in mathematics starting September 2014. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 2014. The department seeks an excellent teacher committed to providing talented undergraduates with a transformative education. Lawrence University is a highly selective liberal arts college with 1500 students located in Appleton, Wisconsin. The teaching load is two courses per term for three ten-week terms a year, while the typical teaching duties include the standard calculus sequence, as well as more advanced courses. In addition, all Lawrence faculty enjoy the opportunity to teach advanced subjects and specialized material through independent study and tutorial work with highly motivated and interested students, as well as the opportunity to teach in Lawrence's signature Freshman Studies program.
Via MathJobs.org, submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statements on teaching and research, graduate transcript (an unofficial transcript is fine at this point), and three letters of recommendation, at least two of which should contain specific comments on teaching. Email inquiries welcome to Bruce Pourciau, chair of the search committee, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please submit formal application materials to MathJobs by February 1, 2014. Review of materials will begin immediately. Lawrence University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to enhancing diversity on campus. Members of underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
