The Department of Mathematics at Queens College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2014. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics by July 1, 2014 and must have broad training and/or research experience in mathematical areas relating to neuroscience. They must demonstrate a commitment to teaching undergraduates and show signicant evidence of scholarly promise. Applicants not meeting the above qualifications will not be considered.

The duties of this position include teaching undergraduate and masters level courses in mathematics and statistics; establishing a record of research and scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, grant applications, and funded research; collaborating with other members of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, serving on departmental and college-wide committees; and advising students. A commitment to the teaching of a diverse urban student body is expected. Preference will be given to candidates who are trained in computational neuroscience and/or statistical methods related to neuroimaging. This position is part of the interdisciplinary initiative in neuroscience in the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, as detailed at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/Academics/Degrees/DMNS.
