The University of Toronto invites applications for three tenure-stream appointments in Mathematics. Each is with the tri-campus Graduate Department of Mathematics and one of two affiliated undergraduate departments: Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC); and Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto St. George (UTSG). All appointments will commence July 1, 2016.

We seek candidates with research expertise in Applied Mathematics. Appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (UTSC and UTSG) and Associate Professor (UTSC).

Candidates for positions at the rank of Assistant Professor must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, by the time of the appointment or shortly thereafter, show evidence of excellence in teaching and demonstrate excellence in research. Evidence of excellence in research will be demonstrated by publications in top ranked and field-relevant academic journals, presentations at top conferences, research awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of top international stature.

Candidates for Associate Professor must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics. A successful candidate must demonstrate a mature research program with a sustained record of research contributions at the highest international levels, expected of a leading researcher, as judged by publications in top ranked and field-relevant academic journals, invited presentations at top international conferences, research awards and accolades, and exceptional endorsements by referees of the highest international stature.

Evidence for teaching excellence at all ranks will be demonstrated through positive teaching accomplishments and accolades, strong letters of reference, and a reflective teaching dossier with outstanding course evaluations.

Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent, innovative research at the highest international level, to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and to participate actively in the Graduate Department of Mathematics.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
