The Mathematics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a position in Analysis/Geometry at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate degree programs, teach, mentor and advise students at the graduate and undergraduate level individually and in the classroom, and undertake service obligations for the department and campus consistent with a ladder-rank faculty member. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to research and professional leadership, and must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. We seek colleagues who will interact and collaborate with faculty from our Department as well as build connections with researchers in other STEM departments on campus such as Physics or Applied Mathematics. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, service, and leadership.

RANK: Assistant Professor

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience; academic year (9 month) basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD or equivalent foreign degree in mathematics or a closely related field; expected to be conferred no later than June 30, 2016; demonstrated record of research and teaching.
