University of Delaware -- Mathematics Assistant Professor


The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment is expected to start in the Fall of 2017.

We seek outstanding scholars in any area of mathematics or applied mathematics. The Department has a particular interest in candidates with strengths in computational mathematics and data science. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the potential to grow and maintain a world class research program that complements Department strengths and to contribute to instruction at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will also actively contribute to the graduate program in mathematics and seek external funding. Involvement in interdisciplinary research is highly encouraged.

Required qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics or a related field, evidence of an independent and growing research program with world-class potential, and a firm commitment to maintaining an integrated program of teaching and research.
