The University of Toronto invites applications for tenure-stream appointments in Pure Mathematics.  Each appointment is with the tri-campus Graduate Department of Mathematics and one of its affiliated undergraduate departments: Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM); and Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto St. George (UTSG). All appointments will commence July 1, 2017.

 

AT UTM the appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. At UTSG the appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. 

 

Candidates in all areas of Pure Mathematics will be considered.

 

For Assistant Professor rank, the applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching.  Excellence in research will be demonstrated by publications in top ranked mathematics journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of top international stature.

 

For Associate Professor rank, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field and demonstrate an outstanding record in research and teaching.  The successful candidate is expected to have exceptional record of research excellence of an internationally competitive caliber, and pursue and maintain innovative research at the highest level.  Excellence in research will be demonstrated by publications in top ranked internationally recognized mathematics journals, presentations at important conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of top international stature.

 

Evidence for excellence in teaching must be provided through teaching accomplishments, letters of reference, and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
