The Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics anticipates openings for Tenure-eligible, Academic Professional Track, and Visiting Faculty positions beginning Fall 2017.
For an Assistant Professorship, a Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. We seek very strong potential in both research and teaching; research productivity beyond the doctoral dissertation will normally be expected.
Our Visiting Assistant Professor positions are three-year appointments and carry a three course per year teaching load. They are intended for those who have recently finished their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests are close to those of our regular faculty.
For an Academic Professional Track position (Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor), the minimal requirement is a Master’s degree in Mathematics. We look for candidates with very strong teaching credentials. These positions come with a teaching load of four courses per semester (Lecturer); for the Instructional Assistant Professor positions, there may be the possibility to substitute another duty (course coordination, etc) for one class.
A complete dossier should be received by November 15, 2016. Early applications are encouraged since the department will start the review process in early November 2016. Applicants should send the completed “AMS Application Cover Sheet”, a vita, statements on research on teaching, and arrange to have letters of recommendation sent to: .
