Arcadia University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Mathematics starting September 2017. A Ph.D. in any area of mathematics, demonstrated excellence in and commitment to teaching, and an ongoing research program are required. Our priority is strong teaching; we seek someone with the ability and enthusiasm to teach a wide variety of courses, including graph theory/combinatorics.

While the field of research in mathematics is open, we seek candidates who can both teach graph theory/combinatorics and mentor student capstone projects in that area. We are especially interested in candidates who can include undergraduates in their research. The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics is a dynamic department of active researchers, which is expanding both the number of its students and faculty. We have grown from 110 to 209 total majors in our department in five years and expect to grow from eight to ten full-time faculty (in addition to our many adjuncts) by next September. Arcadia’s College of Arts and Sciences offers programs in science, technology, and math; humanities; visual and performing arts; communications; and historical and political studies. These programs prepare students for careers that contribute to a global society and allow students to exhibit, perform, and publish on campus through a variety of campus media outlets, including an art gallery, a literary magazine, and an online journal. Arcadia University is a top-ranked private university in Greater Philadelphia and promises a distinctly global, integrative, and personal learning experience that prepares students to contribute and lead in a diverse and dynamic world. A national leader in study abroad and international education, Arcadia has been named #1 in undergraduate study abroad participation by the Institute of International Education’s Open Doors Report for the past six years. Approximately 3,900 students attend Arcadia, and the University’s 2,500 undergraduate students choose from more than 65 fields of study.
