The Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics at Case Western Reserve University is searching for a tenure-track assistant professor in Mathematics to begin in AY 2017/2018. Preference will be given to candidates with a research program in algebra or a related field who can meaningfully interact with the faculty members working in the areas of analysis, probability and geometry, as well as in applied mathematics. This hire is part of an effort to reinforce and diversify the faculty in mathematics, and to strengthen contacts with other departments in the campus.

All candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, or a related field by the time of the appointment, have demonstrated teaching/mentoring experience, and a publication record appropriate to rank. The normal teaching load is two courses per semester.  Candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence, and a statement of current and future research plans.
